Bamboo is (inch by inch) stronger than steel in tension, stronger than concrete in compression, and more stable than oak when processed as lumber. Bamboo flooring is 2.5 times stronger than 100 year old hardwood (2). We want to let our hardwood grow – so why not use bamboo instead so we do not harvest our state forests at 7 years (current NSW State Forest procedure) and instead let the resource grow to its full potential (and beauty).
